All About the Mayan Theatre – The Mayan was built in 1927 by oil magnate Edward L. Doheny as a vaudeville house, and was designed by Stiles O. Clements, who also designed the Pellissier Building, home of the Wiltern Theatre.
The Mayan offers an outstanding example of a historic theatre being saved through adaptive re-use. Owner Sammy Chao worked closely with LAHTF to convert this unique structure from a porno house into a trendy nightclub. This is your chance to explore the Mayan, venture behind the scenes where the public usually can’t go, and see hidden treasures left from the 1920s!

Doors open at 9:30am,  Presentation starts at 10am followed by the tours.
